Want to Know How Beer is Made? Here is a Step-by-Step Guide

Is beer your constant companion in every party? If yes, do you know how beer is made and what ingredients are used in the beer-making process? If no is your response, here is a quick guide for you that details the complete process used by the best beer company in India to brew the beer you constantly crave for.

Have a look and learn few fun facts about the beer making process too:

Malting: At the first stage of brewing beer, fresh grain (usually barley) gets soaked in water and kept inside boxes to germinate. In this phase, the enzymes are formed which are needed for the separation of starch. Later at this step, the germinating process is interrupted for drying and milled similar to the process of making flour. The malt sugar serves to feed the yeast cultures which then form the alcohol.

Mashing: The milled grain is now added to heated and purified water. In a controlled time and temperature process, the milled malt is put mixed with water in the mashing tub. At this step, sugar, proteins, and tannin are released.

Lautering: This is the step where filtration takes place. The mash is passed through a lauter tub where the husk sinks and the wort is separated from the solid substances. Only the wort obtained at this stage is used in the further brewing process.

Wort Boiling and Clarification: At this stage of brewing, wort is boiled with water and hops are added. At this stage, the taste of beer starts to develop depending on the amount of hops used. As the water evaporates, the wort is concentrated in its original form. Further, wort clarification takes place. In this process, the wort is rotated in a special container. The un-dissolved hop particles and proteins and proteins are separated from the clear wort through this process. The clear wort is further used in the brewing process after cooling down at a low temperature.

Fermentation: At this stage, with the usage of yeast, malt sugar is converted into alcohol and carbon dioxide. Depending on the type of yeast and wort used, a top or bottom fermented beer is produced.

Storage and Filtration: At this last stage of beer making, particles of yeast, protein, and resin are extracted giving the beer its final colour.

This explains the complete process of beer making. Most popular beer brands in India uses this process to prepare variants of beer with different taste and appearance.
